Alamo Group Inc. IT Operations Manager in Seguin, Texas

Alamo Group Inc. is seeking a dynamic IT Operations Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of IT operations across various sites, ensuring alignment with our IT strategy and business objectives. This role involves managing teams, both directly and indirectly, to identify and implement improvements, set objectives, and find cost-effective solutions to operational challenges. The position is located at Alamo Group's Corporate Headquarters in Seguin, TX (approximately 25 miles east of San Antonio, TX).

The IT Operations Manager will:

  1. Lead IT operations of specific sites, effectively managing scope, resources, and outcomes of IT hardware, software, and services.

  2. Manage IT assets, including maintenance of inventory, life cycle management, and related documentation

  3. Oversee the implementation of strategic plan objectives to make certain IT infrastructure meets existing and future business requirements

  4. Oversee the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory Office 365, JD Edwards, and other internal applications

  5. Oversee service desk operations for specific sites, delivering efficient and effective outcomes

  6. Participate in IT budget activities, including the creation of an annual budget that adheres to IT strategy that brings value to the business

  7. Prepare project plans, review scope of work documents, and other documentation for IT projects and associated efforts

  8. Manage and ensure effectiveness of on premise and cloud-based services

  9. Negotiate and maintain relationships with technology, software, and services providers to secure IT products and services

  10. Lead as a subject matter expert, preparing reports and routinely communicates with leadership and others regarding pertinent IT activities, Cyber Security status and posture, and other topics related to the status of hardware and software incidents and issues for specific sites

  11. Participate in Corporate IT afterhours on-call rotation for critical system outages

  12. Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  4. Ability to maintain proficiency with rapidly evolving technologies

  5. High level of expertise managing Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Exchange/Exchange Online, or Microsoft Office 365

  6. Experience deploying or managing SDWAN and VPN networking technologies

  7. Exposure to products from F5 Networks, Cisco Meraki, Cisco ASA X series firewalls, Hewlett Packard Aruba, or Dell

  8. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to a problem.

  9. Strong organizational skills: ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks

  10. Ability to work irregular hours or overtime as needed to respond to incidents and perform maintenance

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience is required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT operations is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience managing people is required

  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships and managing projects is required

Working Conditions:

This position will generally work in an indoor office or manufacturing shop floor environment with frequent sitting for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 20 pounds may be required. Requires sufficient manual and visual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. May be required to travel 20% on an annual basis both domestic and international as needed.
