Calo Senior Accountant - General Ledger & Reporting in Seef, Bahrain

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior General Ledger and Reporting Accountant to support the group reporting function at Calo. This role involves overseeing the group accounting transactions and providing consolidated reports in alignment with the overall business processes, procedures, and relevant financial reporting standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Management of day to day accounting functions, using the relevant accounting systems and implementing the necessary accounting policies and procedures

  • Overseeing the control over payables, receivables, cash collection, and bank transactions while ensuring the maintenance of efficient financial processes

  • Preparing management reports that include a summary of the findings, recommendations, conclusions, and results in a timely manner

  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies

  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents

  • Assisting with annual audit preparations. Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance

  • Monitoring budgets and proactively identifying cost reduction opportunities wherever possible

  • Asset tracking and management

  • Reconciling supplier and customer transactions. Ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures

  • Lead the allocations and consolidations reporting workstream

    Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, and a relevant Professional Qualification

  • 5+ years of accounting experience

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

  • Working knowledge of IFRS and GAAP

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong organizational and stress management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision

  • Accuracy & attention to detail
