STATE FAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE Coordinator of Testing Services in SEDALIA, Missouri

SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 4,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.

The College offers Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees, as well as professional and skills certificates, non-credit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Jefferson City, and online.

Position Purpose:Under limited direction, plans, organizes, implements, develops, and coordinates activities required for campus and community testing services. Performs leadership for and supervision of two Testing Services Specialists.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage all placement scores using Guided Self Placement and ACCUPLACER, including score reporting not managed by Slate.
  • Maintain the Placement Chart in combination with faculty and the Registrar for each catalog.
  • Administer Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) for students and the community as well as any data management associated with such testing.
  • Provide testing support and materials for the Sedalia campus and all extended campus sites.
  • Mange and administer standardized testing such as ASE, CLEP, HiSET, MEGA, NOCTI, Pearson VUE, WorkKeys, ATI TEAS, Self-Directed Search (SDS), and others.
  • Provide entry level and experienced worker screenings for surrounding business and industry partners.
  • Manage the preparation and monitoring of the unit budget, approve purchase requisitions, and maintain supplies and inventory.
  • Arrange for space and equipment needed for testing for local, state, and national testing companies.
  • Manage the collection of testing data in relation for report preparation, trend utilization, and billing of programs.
  • Work closely with the Registrar to set appropriate goals for Testing Services
  • Work closely with the Disability Resource Center to provide accommodations to students with disabilities such as, but not limited to, extended time testing and tests with a reader or scribe.
  • Manage day-to-day activities in the Sedalia testing center.
  • Guarantee the rules and regulations of the testing companies with which the institution is contracted are being followed.
  • Serve on institutional committees and teams.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise about testing activities and products for stakeholders.
  • Maintain NCTA Test Center Certification for the Sedalia Testing Center.

Upon hiring and as a condition of employment, within 90 days the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain certifications required to administer exams given in the SFCC Testing Center,including but not limited toPearson VUE, HiSET, Meazure Learning, ATI Testing, MSSC, NIMS, Accuplacer, ASE, CLEP, IsoQuality Testing and NHA Now, and any other exams needed in the Testing Center.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in education, counseling, psychology or a related field
  • Three years experience in teaching, counseling, or training and assessment
  • Work experience at an educational testing center or as an assessment coordinator preferred.

Skills:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox Internet Browsers, Windows, appropriate telephone etiquette, and excellent customer service skills are an absolute must. Coordinator must be student centered and have the ability to read and scribe exams as well as teach others these sk lls.
  • Knowledge of fair testing practices, testing policies and procedures, security measures and standards in relation to testing, and student identification procedures.
  • Knowledge of methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the American Disability Act of 1990, as amended (ADA).
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people and activities of administrative departments.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the activities of personnel by identifying measures of system performance and the actions needed to improve performance.
  • Establish operational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in faculty and college committee activities.
  • Plan, administer, and control budgets, maintain financial records, and produce reports.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting.
  • There is frequent sitting with walking, standing, and stooping occasionally required.
  • There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 30 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

Standard Work Schedule:

Testing Services is open standard business hours but evenings and Saturdays are sometimes required. Weekend and/or evening hours may be expected during high testing volumes. Vacation is highly discouraged during high testing volumes.
