Amazon Tax Operations Analyst, U.S. Outbound Reporting & Compliance in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is seeking a Tax Technologist/Operations Senior Analyst to join our US International Reporting and Compliance team. This role will be based at our Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA headquarters.

As the Tax Technologist/Operations Senior Analyst, you will focus on US federal international income tax reporting and compliance operations, including managing the end-to-end lifecycle for forms such as 1118, 1120-F, 5471, 8858, 8865, 8991, 8992, 8993, and 8621, as well as relevant disclosure statements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain master data and mapping tables used for modeling and calculation processes (charts of account, e-file schema, account rollups)

  • Create and update formulaic review solutions and analytical review dashboards

  • Maintain and roll over file import calculations

  • Prepare or review calculation models for various schedules of Forms 5471/8858

  • Drive process improvements and collaborating with the Tax Technology team to streamline and automate recurring calculations

  • Oversee data extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes from source models to tax return forms for GILTI, E&P, Subpart F, Foreign Tax Credits, and various other calculations for Forms 5471/8858

  • Document direct tax reporting obligations by creating and/or reviewing audit-ready workpapers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of at least one data-focused technology tool, such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Amazon QuickSight, or similar

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $102,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
