Amazon System Development Engineer, CE Tech in Seattle, Washington

Description

Consumer Electronics Technology (CE Tech) is hiring System Development Engineers (SysDE)! We are innovating how customers shop for electronics, digital video games, subscriptions, warranties, wireless plans, bundles, and more!

We’re looking for SysDEs who are passionate about high standards, software quality, security, engineering excellence, and leading large and complex projects from start to finish. As a SysDE in CE Tech, you'll be part of an amazing central team with opportunity to work across 15 talented engineering teams throughout the organization. This includes developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and systems, automated tools, and solutions that power our backend systems and customer facing features.

As a SysDE, you will:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performing systems and services

• Own and lead engineering excellence initiatives across multiple engineering teams, driving improvements in infrastructure, software quality, operational efficiency, security, and development practices using automated solutions

• Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS

• Perform in-depth troubleshooting and debugging to resolve complex, cross-cutting issues involving multiple systems and teams

• Partner closely with engineering teams to share knowledge, provide mentorship, and collaborate on solutions

• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to leverage new capabilities

• Administer, monitor, and generate system health and performance reporting to provide visibility into and improve infrastructure, system, and operational health

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

  • Experience with Linux/Unix

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
