National Archives and Records Administration Supervisory Archives Specialist in Seattle, Washington

Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Seattle Federal Records Center. As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing comprehensive programs for the appraisal, accessioning, storage, servicing, and disposal of Federal agency records, and exhibition of records of other Federal agencies. Responsibilities The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will: Ensure timely performance of a satisfactory amount and quality of work Review subordinates; work products, including accepting, amending or rejecting work; evaluating performance of subordinates; planning work goals to be accomplished by subordinates Assign work based upon priorities and staff capabilities Requirements Conditions of Employment The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. A one-year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13, specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include: Leading projects or teams to obtain information and provide recommendations to senior leaders or other interested parties; AND Managerial experience managing agency staff; AND Analyzing, evaluating, or developing formal policies and procedures related to reimbursable records management and services; AND Developing methods, organizational structures, or management processes to better service both internal and external customers. For the GS-12, specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include: Managerial experience managing agency staff; AND Analyzing, evaluating, or developing formal policies and procedures related to reimbursable records management and services; AND Developing methods, organizational structures, or management processes to better service both internal and external customers. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
