Amazon Sr. Partner Ops Lead, APO Business Operations, AWS WWCO Global Partner SSOE in Seattle, Washington

Global Operations and Annual Planning team supports the partner team to enable AWS teams to better serve our partners and customers in their journey to the cloud.

We are seeking a Sr. Partner Operations manager to partner with the APO Leadership team and extended Sales, Strategy and Operations team, leading and evolving the Goals mechanism for APO. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, project management, communication and analytical skills. Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and willingness to be hands-on are essential prerequisites to succeed in this role.

This is a highly visible strategic role that will collaborate with teams across the globe, including Sales, Go-To-Market, Partner, Sales Operations, and Business Intelligence to establish goals that achieve the organization’s strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate earns trust through performance and relationship building, thinks strategically and analytically about business challenges, has experience in program management and has a deep analytic background to assist the Partner organization in meeting its business objectives. The candidate will be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving, a passion for identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and has the foresight to anticipate business needs, make trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints.

The right candidate has a strong record of delivering results timely and effectively. You should have experience managing complex global programs for sales engagement in large, multi-national, preferably tech organizations. The ideal candidate has broad technical skills, strong financial acumen, sales strategy experience, and a deep analytical background. Strong judgement, ability to manage through ambiguity and complexity as well as a demonstrated ability to influence without explicit authority are key to success.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage the goals mechanism for APO across the annual lifecycle (OP)

• Own gap to goals analyses (Go to Green)

• Create and scale sales strategies that drive goal attainment

• Drive cross-pollination of best practices across business segments

• Manage and influence diverse stakeholders through a planning interlock and support target setting

• Use strong business judgement to influence the selection of goals during planning cycles, in partnership with APO leadership

• Own the work-back schedule of the goals planning process and communicate it efficiently

• Craft recommendations that inform senior leaders and champion operational efficiency

About the team

The Global Operations and Annual Planning team team (GOAT) serves as the central command center for AWS Partner Organization (APO), looking across all of APO teams and other AWS stakeholders invested in Partners. GOAT leads central business planning and operations for AWS Partner, bringing all stakeholders together and ensuring we plan and operate our business in a way to Succeed as One AWS. We develop the best practices for business planning and operations mechanisms and scale our team and partner business by providing high quality and efficient mechanisms and resources that can be widely adopted across the APO and AWS.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

  • 7+ years of experience in the areas of sales planning/strategy, and/or sales operations, finance, business development, business management, in mid-to-large scale global sales organization

  • Experience within a global technology or management consulting firm

  • Experience engaging with senior executives and with decision making processes in an enterprise setting

  • Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams

  • Experience in a B2B sales environment to include sales organizational structures, indirect channel, sales systems, and industry data used in developing go-to-market strategies

  • Experience with market and insights related to cloud computing and IT

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Experience working with executive leader(s)

  • Understands business operations, and has a background that enables them to create scalable programs that apply holistic approaches to sales planning

  • Demonstrated Earning Trust with internal stakeholders, prove the ability to deep dive data, is biased for action and drives for results through others

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
