Amazon Corporate LLC Sr. Manager, Data Engineering, Devices and Services FinTech in Seattle, Washington

The Amazon Devices and Service Finance organization is expanding our technology team, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to drive strategic initiatives to improve financial reporting efficiency, and optimize the planning and reporting processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a results driven leader to architect solutions, build features and tools that will have an immediate impact, as well as partnering with finance and business leaders in Devices and Services to drive results. In addition to requiring a high level of technical expertise in building enterprise-wide software and data infrastructure, you will work closely with peer finance and business teams to innovate around predictive and ML capabilities. Ideal candidates will have expertise in all phases of the software lifecycle management process. The data flowing through our services directly contributes to decision-making by our CFO and all levels of finance leadership. As a DEM, you will play a thought leadership role in our team - the team will look to you for advice on analytical and business issues facing them. You must be willing to insist on the highest standards for quality, maintainability, and performance. You will ensure that engineering best practices are followed and that software is designed to be highly-available, dynamically scalable, and resilient to continuity threats. You will own the goals and roadmap of your team and will set the strategic direction for your team. Successful candidates will be high-bandwidth leaders who can cut through the noise, simplify relentlessly, deliver results, and build great teams around themselves. Key job responsibilities - Lead a diverse technical team in the design, development, test, deployment and operation of a variety of financial solutions supporting the Devices and Services business. - Serve as a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable systems to support business growth. An ideal candidate will have experience in optimizing finance processes for speed, agility and insight. - Drive effective partnership, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities. - Develop and maintain technical roadmap and prioritization. - Provide risk assessment for new functionality and enhancements. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, USA \| Sunnyvale, CA, USA - Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. - 7+ years of relevant engineering experience. - 3+ years of hands-on experience hiring and managing engineering teams. - Strong technical background including experience designing and building financial systems solutions. - Experience in partnering with product and program management teams. - Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. - Strong engineering background including data structures, algorithm design and complexity analysis. - Master\'s degree in Business, Engineering or other technical discipline. - A passion for delivering results and building trust with senior leaders. - Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2). - Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets. - Strong object-oriented design skills with understanding of common design paradigms. - Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused, professional demea
