Who are we looking for? The Solid Waste Management Group is looking for a Solid Waste Engineer/Project Manager in our Seattle office. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical expertise, local relationships and knowledge on challenging projects with the support to grow your career. As a part of the Solid Waste Management team, you will also have the opportunity to support projects across North America and globally, including collaboration with other business groups including Integrated Water Management and Contamination Assessment and Remediation (CAR) groups. You will be part of a team of technical experts that support GHD's Western Region. In the problem solving business, it helps to be restlessly curious to deliver community change. The position will consist of managing projects and staff while supporting business development and client relationship management. We are seeking talented, self-motivated, and active networkers who value building credible long-term relationships with their colleagues, clients, and the community. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Serve as technical lead to develop the approach, implement projects, and present to clients and project partners for projects requiring permitting, operations support, detailed design, construction management and inspection, environmental monitoring and studies, and support strategic regional business development activities. * Serve as project manager, delivering quality projects on budget and schedule. * Lead the design of landfills, transfer stations, composting facilities and anaerobic digestion facilities. * Coordinate technical resources and personnel including drafters, 3D designers, GIS and database technicians, chemists, geotechnical engineers, hydrologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and planners to complete solid waste facility designs and plans. * Prepare technical analysis, modeling, reports, presentations. * Complete peer review of technical reports and designs completed by others. * Effectively communicate with existing and prospective clients * Mentoring junior staff * Fieldwork planning and coordination of subcontractors during drilling, excavating, trenching, system construction, etc. and fieldwork, as required for project execution. * Lead and/or contribute to proposal preparation. The ideal candidate would have the following experience/skills: * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong technical writing skills; with grant and proposal writing experience a plus. * Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technical staff. * Long-term client management experience * Experience preparing complex engineering analysis and planning documents. * Experience in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets. * Must be able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously; and have strong organizational, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. * Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, an
