To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building thesustainable infrastructurefor our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will work on the Systems Engineering team for the Blue Moon Lunar Lander system as the Lead Engineer for specialty engineering. You will be responsible for performing and coordinating specialty engineering for the vehicle per Blue Origin processes and customer requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating with domain experts on testing and analysis related to natural and induced environments, performing functional, non-functional and safety requirements definition, working with subsystem Responsible Engineers to identify controls and mitigations in the vehicle design, and supporting integration, verification, and validation. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Blue Moon Lunar Lander (Link:) that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and contribute to the analysis of natural environments (e.g., radiation, charging, gravity, thermal, lunar surface) on Earth, on the Moon, and in space, to inform the design and integration of space systems. Assess induced environments (e.g., induced loads, EMI/EMC, thermal extremes, vibration) to guide the design and engineering of spacecraft. Coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate materials and processes that can withstand the unique challenges posed by natural and induced environments, ensuring robustness and resilience of space systems. Apply specialty engineering principles to address complex engineering challenges related to aerospace systems, including risk management, reliability, and maintainability considerations. Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers across the program and company. Collaborate across Lunar Systems Engineers to develop methodologies and find opportunities for common processes across projects. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field. 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience performing activities such as requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, integration, verification, and validation. Experience with performing specialty engineering on space systems including one of the following: natural environments, induced environments, materials and processes, reliability and maintainability. Ability to lead and coordinate specialty engineering products across collaborators and experts from varying engineering fields.
