About the team: The Big Data Query Platform team builds and provides big data querying capabilities for Pinterest. The ability for analysts, data scientists, engineers and account managers to move with velocity when they extract insights and compute metrics which is instrumental for building the Pinterest product and business. In order to make data processing easy and fast with SQL, we develop on open source projects such as Spark SQL, Trino, Parquet and Iceberg and provide them as a service to Pinterest. Thousands of users run millions of queries every month and it powers use cases such as identifying spam attacks and understanding ads campaign performance. What you'll do: You'll have the opportunity to build the infrastructure platforms that power Pinterest's critical business needs. Building or using the cutting edge big data technologies such as Hadoop/Spark/Flink/Kafka/Airflow/Presto. What we're looking for: 5+ years of industry Backend experience building and maintaining data infrastructure Passionate about working with data at hundreds of petabytes scale.
