New selection is a key driver of Amazon’s flywheel and shopper experience and represents a large share of shipped units each year globally. Our mission in this pillar is to help Brands drive discoverability, credibility and conversion on valuable new selection and thereby, deliver great shopping experience for our Customers.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager Tech who will own and drive the companywide machine learning (ML) framework for measuring new selection quality and leveraging the framework to drive improved shopper experience throughout their shopping journey (on and off Amazon globally) to help drive new selection discovery. The PMT’s main duties are to: (1) Define business problem and KPIs that the framework is supposed to address and align with stakeholders, (2) Create a working backwards program strategy and roadmap, (3) Prioritize features, define user stores and use cases for how the ML framework will be integrated across shopping journey, (4) Collaborate with science, data and engineering teams across teams to deliver the framework and its monitoring systems, (5) Collaborate with companywide stakeholders to drive series of experiments to test, learn and iterate on framework and integrations, and (6) Manage expansion and evolution of the framework.

As a product leader on this charter, you are someone who has experience working on ML projects, is comfortable operating in high visibility high impact role, has experience in building mechanisms and processes ground up, is very good with written and verbal communication skills, is willing to roll up sleeves and drive results. You must have sound business judgment and the ability to think strategically with a long-term vision about this fast-growing space, while being able to execute on tactical details. The pay-off is high ownership, an ability to deliver Amazon wide impact, face time with cross-Amazon verticals and senior leadership team, variety of work, and the ability to grow rapidly in the role.

A successful candidate will:

• Have the ability to work independently in a broad array of environments

• Demonstrate confidence operating in a highly ambiguous and iterative business space

• Utilize metrics to deep-dive into issues and uncover business-driving trends and patterns

• Build strong partnerships to understand, present and deliver growth opportunities

• Manage planning and organizing, and high-quality execution of complex projects

• Make prioritization and trade-off decisions balancing customer experience, Seller experience, and business value

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

  • Experience with technologies like Hadoop, Rules based systems and Machine learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Master's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
