About the Role:

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team aims to provide a comprehensive, cross-functional perspective on risks, ensuring their effective prioritization and management in alignment with the Company’s strategic goals. This position will oversee the company’s Risk Appetite Statement, key risk indicators, and risk library. Key responsibilities include collaborating with corporate risk partners and the 1st line to implement corresponding risk management practices in line with documented expectations and ensuring alignment with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions and risk analytics and reporting. Other responsibilities will include working with senior leadership to enhance risk reporting and formal effective challenge practices. This role will also participate in strategic enterprise-wide projects to drive proactive risk identification and mitigation for enterprise risks. An ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of risk management, particularly financial risk, and ERM’s role in the 2nd line, a deep curiosity and aptitude for understanding the connections between risk information, a talent for developing and implementing program requirements/enhancements into a user-friendly interface, excellent soft and collaboration skills and writing abilities, and a high level of comfort interacting with senior leadership regularly

  • Oversee the management and ongoing maintenance of the Risk Appetite Statement, ensuring it aligns with the company’s strategic objectives

  • Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide early warning signals of potential risk exposures.

  • Manage and update the risk library to ensure it reflects current and emerging risks.

  • Implement and maintain the risk management framework, ensuring it is applied consistently across the company.

  • Work closely with corporate risk partners and the 1st line to apply risk management practices in alignment with documented expectations.

  • Assess risk management expectations strategically and ensure risks are managed according to these expectations across all three lines.

  • Align risk management practices with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions and risk analytics.

  • Develop and implement program requirements and enhancements into a user interface.

  • Regularly interact with senior leadership to provide updates and insights on risk management activities.

  • Partner with various teams, including other ERM teams, to drive a cohesive approach that enables effective risk data aggregation and reporting of the organization’s risk profile.

  • Demonstrate expertise in risk management to effectively monitor and challenge associated risk management activities, as well as provide appropriate level of consultation.

  • Develop and implement processes for identifying, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on enterprise-wide risks, which include non-financial and financial risks.

  • Lead cross-functional risk management initiatives and projects that impact multiple risk disciplines and/or business units.

  • Responsible for risk related change management initiatives through appropriate level of research, analysis, development and execution.

  • Responsible for regulatory relations, including providing responses and documentation as requested.

  • Prepare risk management reports to Executive Management and contribute to the Board of Directors committees’ reports relative to enterprise risk management activities.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or other applicable discipline or equivalent experience. Required

  • Master's Degree.Preferred.

  • 7 + years of banking, risk management, finance, technology experience. Required

  • Expertise in financial, enterprise, operational, or technology risk management concepts, best practices, and regulations.

  • Extensive understanding of financial institution general control structure, as well as, knowledge of various bank operations,in order toassess risk, challenge, and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Demonstrate ability to independently manage multiple and complex work efforts, which involves directing other key stakeholders across the bank.

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills, critical thinking, and analytical skillset. Ability to present complex information to a variety of different audiences.

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, ACL, or Cognos reporting.Knowledge of GRC systems helpful.

Our Benefits:

We offer a competitive total rewards package including basewagesand comprehensive benefits. Thepayrange for this role is $89,000.00 - $150,000.00, and the pay rate for theselected candidate isdependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The rolemay beeligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
