Description The Instrument Service Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that each surgical procedure has complete, accurate and on-time sterile instrumentation. Works with Sterile Processing, Operating Room, and Surgery Scheduling staff to plan in advance for scheduled surgeries. Responds immediately to resolve instrument-related concerns or to satisfy additional instrument needs during all surgical cases. Instrument Service Coordinators work together to manage shared or limited instrument resources between cases and departments. Manages standard and rapid turnover of instrumentation, including monitoring of flash sterilization. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Required Qualifications: Completion of a Central Service Technician course or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Course or equivalent OR experience Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Or Upon hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution 3 years Recent experience in a Sterile Processing Department OR recent instrument-related experience in an Operating Room environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large multi-specialty facility with more than 12 operating rooms Prior experience working with an instrument tracking system, such as InstaCount Plus and ESI Why Join Providence?
