Job Summary The SBA Lending Program Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the SBA Lending Program. The SBA Lending Program Manager closely monitors the portfolio to ensure the programs success in support of the bank's financial objectives. WaFd Bank is proud of the high value that we all place on simply being kind when serving our co-workers and clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: People Management: Hire, onboard, and train SBA team members to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles. Establish clear expectations, provide regular feedback and conduct performance assessments to drive accountability and professional development within the team. Provide ongoing support and guidance to facilitate the advancement of team expertise in SBA lending. Assign responsibilities to effectively balance workloads, optimize efficiency and meet SBA loan program requirement deadlines and objectives. Schedule staff work hours, including lunches, and breaks. Responsible for reviewing and approving timecards and ensuring time is properly recorded (i.e. overtime, breaks, lunches, time worked, time off etc.) in adherence to federal, state, and local laws requiring WaFd to keep an accurate record of time worked and necessary to accurately calculate employees pay and benefits. Use StandOut to support weekly one-on-ones with immediate supervisor and those under direct supervision to document regular coaching conversations, provide additional support, and communicate performance expectations. Program Management and Performance: Develop and maintain the bank's SBA loan program to ensure compliance with the SBA guidelines and policies. Design strategies to grow the SBA portfolio, including marketing and identifying target markets to align with the bank's lending strategy and objectives. Create written policy and procedure documentation to ensure consistent and compliant practices across multiple geographical areas. Define, track and report on key performance indicators such as volume, pipeline, risk level, approval/denial rate and profitability and performance of SBA loans (individual loan and portfolio level) and ensuring alignment with bank goals. Collaborate with credit, underwriting, sales and servicing teams to ensure optimal performance and address issues with the program. Collaborate with commercial lending, legal and credit to integrate the SBA program into the banks overall offerings and documentation remains up to date. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure loans are compliant with the SBA Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the SBA, including submitting necessary updates and certifications. Develop program documentation such as policies, procedures and job aids to ensure consistent loan structure protocol is followed that meet the needs of the borrowers and adhere to SBA guidelines. Develop, implement and oversee key control and monitoring program for SBA loans and prepare and present reporting thereof to bank management.
