Amazon Sales Operations Manager, Amazon Devices - Business Development in Seattle, Washington

The Amazon Devices Business Development organization is looking for a results-oriented, data-driven Sales Operations Manager to support operational excellence across our Tech Licensing Business Development (TLBD) team.

To be successful in this role, you will have to: 1) build relationships with internal teams and external partners, 2) clearly communicate verbally and in writing, 3) learn partners' unique internal processes and work with them to drive process improvements, 4) be comfortable navigating nuanced payment and financial details and 5) enjoy solving problems. The successful candidate will have a curious mind, great attention to detail, and be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task while managing numerous cross functional projects. The role will focus on maintaining high-quality day-to-day business operations while collaborating with licensing partners to continuously improve workflows and partnerships, while identifying opportunities for long-term solutions and automation.

As a member of the Business Development Sales Operation (BDSO) team, you will own supporting licensing partner operations for Amazon Devices. This role is critical to the success of all Amazon Devices licensing partnerships, directly impacting the quality of partner interactions, while being closely embedded in the day-to-day operations of the TLBD team. You must demonstrate a metrics driven approach to identify pain points, remediation actions, and resulting improvements.

Key job responsibilities

• Workflow Management: Manage day-to-day business operations tasks to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of licensing partner payments/invoices through internal and external engagement.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize internal and external processes, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

• Automation Solutions: Evaluate current processes and systems to identify areas for automation, and lead initiatives to implement automation solutions that increase productivity and reduce manual effort.

• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including: Business Development, Finance, Product, Accounting, and Engineering to complete day-to-day operations and opportunities to streamline workflows.

• Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, informing strategic decision-making and driving continuous optimization of business operations; deliver reports on the same.

• Training and Documentation: Develop and maintain training materials and documentation for processes and systems, ensuring that team members are equipped to effectively utilize tools and follow established procedures.

• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual agreements, and implement measures to continuously monitor and improve quality in business operations.

A day in the life

As a Sales Operations Manager, you will be responsible for influencing internal and external partners to manage end-to-end operations for Amazon Devices licensing partnership payments and reporting. The successful candidate will be experienced at leading cross-functional projects and execute quickly across internal and external teams. They are a self-starter who can listen, form insight, and execute while defining the strategic vision for process improvement and automation across the organization. They will balance earning their stakeholders’ trust while delivering against tight timelines. A desire to dive deep to understand the business and ability to build a trusted network with stakeholder teams and external partners is essential to this role.

About the team

This role sits on the Business Development Sale Operations (BDSO) team which manages centralized operations for: physical distribution, tech licensing operations (which you will be helping build out from the ground up!), and new to market enablement in the Amazon Devices Business Development organization. BDSO also owns two Salesforce (SF) instances utilized for business development pipeline management, planning, and forecasting globally. Business development operations and systems are managed with a focus on sustainability and continuous improvement to enable scalability and new business models.

The role supports the Tech Licensing Business Development (TLBD) team, which is a global subject-matter expert in licensing (software, content/data, etc.) across Devices & Services, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and Amazon. We drive high-quality licensing negotiations, manage strategic partnerships, contribute forward-looking insights, and surface innovations that enable Amazon to delight our customers in ever-evolving ways. This role will be critical in helping the overall TLBD team deliver the best possible outcomes for Amazon customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

  • 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience

  • Experience working within a high-growth, technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
