Blue Origin LLC Safety and Reliability Subsystem Lead in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, engineers, and designers, you will support systems engineering for crew and life support systems. As the crew and life support systems Safety and Reliability Systems Engineer you will be expected to lead and support various roles including Functional decomposition, and studies to ensure optimization of the design, requirements management and decomposition, integration, verification and validation. Your attention to detail will be used for managing requirements development, documenting interfaces between elements and disciplines and drive design maturation. Additionally, this role requires understanding and supporting requirements analysis and traceability, functional analysis, systems analysis, safety analysis, technical performance monitoring, developing strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) and system product life cycle processes. You will also support the alignment and consistent implementation of SLD Vehicle system engineering practices for system to lower-level program tiers as well as across program systems. You will also help develop health metrics to support insight into program health and tracking to major objectives. You will also participate in gated reviews. You should be able to understand and document system behaviors with architecture. You will play a key role in developing Blue Moon Lunar Lander (Link: ) that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Special Mentions Relocation provided Occasional travel expected up to 15% of the time Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform and lead engineering activities including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Hazard Reports, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans Develop plans and coordinate completion of system and subsystem safety analysis, providing review, guidance, and expertise of safety analysis products Ensure traceability between system and subsystem functions, requirements, and safety artifacts Support verification and validation of safety and reliability requirements Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers across the program and company Collaborate across Lunar Systems Engineers to develop best practices and find opportunities for common processes across projects Minimum Qualifications B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience performing activities such as requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, integration, verification, and validation Experience with performing safety analyses on space systems including one of the following: Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Hazard Reports, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA
