At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will develop and execute a program plan to support a rocket engine development program in the areas of Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety. You will be the primary focal point for RAMS topics and may lead a team of RAMS engineers to execute the RAMS program plan. In the early phases of a program, you will focus on assessing functional hazards, developing, and allocating system safety, reliability/availability, and maintainability requirements, and defining scope vital to develop a safe and reliable engine. In later phases of development, you will manage safety and reliability validation and verification activities, assess safety and reliability impacts of engineering changes and nonconformance's, and ensure that design-specific safety and reliability mitigations are implemented effectively. In this role, you will have the opportunity to continue to engage with the product team well into engine qualification, production, and vehicle system certification and operational phases of the program. We are seeing a self-motivated and highly organized individual who can work with minimal guidance and coordinate teams in the successful execution of system safety and reliability activities.
