Registered Radiologic Technologist II - Medical Imaging at Swedish First Hill (Full-Time / Days)

The Radiologic Technologist II performs a variety of technical procedures to include fluoroscopy and plain films as well as portable x-ray and c-arm operations in various locales. Examples of these procedures include but are not limited to barium studies, arthrography, myelography, fluoroscopic guidance for invasive procedures, etc. Provides appropriate care to patients and assures their safety from a physical and clinical perspective.

  • Demonstrates functional understanding of various types of x-ray equipment and applications, to include c-arm, portable, R&F, etc.

  • Provides optimal diagnostic images in an expedient manner as well as provides appropriate clinical information to the radiologist.

  • Consistently follows departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and physiology sufficient to allow optimum positioning of patients for imaging.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of radiation safety.

  • Keeps abreast of current techniques and protocols.

  • Functions proficiently at computer applications within Medical Imaging and associated duties.

  • Performs various support activities when needed, which may include transporting of patients, film library functions, scheduling and receptions duties.

  • Maintains professional, effective and compassionate communication with patients and families who may be under physical and emotional stress.

  • Demonstrates proficiency at fluoroscopic procedures such as barium studies, myelography, guidance for invasive procedures, arthrography, etc, as required.

  • Must be available for on-call status and able to respond in required timeframe if applicable.

  • Demonstrates understanding of the other modalities of Medical Imaging with regard to hours of operation, oncall procedures and other support services.

  • Consistently able to take direction from the radiologist, collaborate effectively, and use good judgment.

  • Accepts guidance and suggestions for improvement in a positive manner and acts upon the recommendations.

  • Provides basic nursing care as required, i.e. taking pulse, blood pressure, O2 Sat, etc.

Required qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of a formal radiological technology program

  • At the time of hire must have National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Vendor Managed)

  • Washington Radiologic Technologist (Vendor Managed)

  • Two (2) years experience as a radiological technologist required, not to include student training

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed) OrNational Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Vendor Managed)
