Job Information
Amazon Principal, Corp BD, Corporate Business Development in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Corporate Business Development (CorpBD) team, focusing on strategic partnerships to drive new initiatives in varying market segments (e.g., Advertising, Amazon digital services, etc.). This is a unique opportunity to join a centralized team that leads strategic partnerships across Amazon businesses. As a CorpBD leader you will be responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of Amazon’s most complex and high impact strategic partnership activities. This includes working on deals and projects which are unconventional in nature, need a centralized advocate, and have broader implications to Amazon. You will interact with senior leaders across several of Amazon’s businesses.
This role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Amazon. You will need to work collaboratively with internal stakeholder teams to understand where our relative advantages/risks lie and current trends around innovation, consolidation, and customer adoption. We dive deep and provide thoughtful technical analysis, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making. Identifying and executing strategic partnerships and initiatives is our primary objective. You will be required to handle multiple projects that may span a variety of business categories and be forward-thinking to effectively negotiate terms that benefit Amazon and our customers.
The CorpBD leader will be responsible for driving projects and negotiations that impact multiple areas within Amazon and support CorpBD’s broader mission. Working closely with CorpBD and business executives, this individual will develop and execute on strategic partnerships to create significant impact. We are seeking an innovative, creative, analytical, technical and strategic thinker who is passionate about Amazon’s growth and the business segments in which we operate. The ideal candidate is an independent thinker who enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with senior cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving. CorpBD is a small, tight-knit team who values authentic, strong-willed individuals that think creatively and will proactively seek out opportunities to advance the growth initiatives of Amazon’s businesses.
Our team recognizes that the hardest part of business development is not always finalizing terms with a partner – it is often aligning with internal stakeholders on the parameters, strategic tradeoffs, and high-judgment decisions related to a deal or project. CorpBD partnerships often require significant product and/or resource requirements, and individuals on this team must have a strategic mindset with data-driven insight to drive opportunities forward. Your ability to build relationships internally and externally will be critical, as will be your resourcefulness, your analytical skills, and your grit.
