Responsibilities POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP POSITION: The Jackson laboratory ( at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on projects focused on the pathogenesis and treatment of systemic autoimmunity. The postdoctoral scientist would join a rapidly expanding research program in B cell biology within the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies at SCRI. (. Within this broad research focus, specific projects could include:1) Delineating the B cell-specific drivers of humoral autoimmunity, in particular systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).2) Interrogating the pathogenesis of human lupus nephritis using cutting-edge single cell and spatial transcriptomics.3) Novel therapeutic strategies for B cell depletion in systemic autoimmunity, including design of bispecific antibodies and drug-regulatable chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. The overall goal of this project would be to both develop new treatments for SLE and to gain mechanistic insights into lupus pathophysiology via the targeted depletion of specific B cell subpopulations. For this position, we are seeking a highly motivated scientist to work with the group in performing experiments related to murine modeling of humoral autoimmunity, flow cytometry, ELISA, tissue culture experiments, and viral transduction. Experiments will also involve animal models of disease, include immunisation of mice and harvesting target tissues from mice.
