Amazon Media Director - Remote within US

Advantage Unified Commerce is one of the largest full-service agencies and advertisers supporting brands on Amazon. We manage many leading brands and support over $3B annual sales on Amazon. We are looking for a Director of Media with deep expertise on all things Amazon media related, to help manage several of our strategic clients as well as our media team. The ideal candidate will have had deep experience managing large sponsored ads budgets, leveraging the Amazon UI as well as automation for campaign optimizations, DSP and other programmatic full funnel tactics, and has worked with other well-known consumer brands.

The role of the Director of Amazon Media is to develop and manage the successful execution of commerce media programs for one or more clients, including program design and implementation as well as oversee quality of work by any direct reports across his/her assigned book of accounts. The role requires a strong understanding of digital media to effectively drive day-to-day tactical execution and optimization of campaigns and deliver successful program outcomes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and guides Amazon search and DSP program for marquee clients, managing multiple lines of business

  • Main point of contact for clients, third-party vendors, and internal departments for matters involving paid search and DSP in that unit.

  • Develops a strong understanding of the client’s business, including their products & services, competitive landscape, and trends in their industry

  • Contributes to the development and execution of market strategies for Amazon campaigns, including developing strategic roadmaps, test plans, and risk/benefit analysis; as well as analyzing results and developing actionable insights.

  • Employs analytical reasoning, data analysis, and problem-solving skills to manage campaigns effectively and efficiently.

  • Demonstrates thought leadership and professional communication skills by developing and delivering client-facing materials, such as presentations, point of views, business cases, and performance reports. Proven success managing client relationships directly.

  • Utilizes business acumen to work closely with client teams to identify and fully understand business needs, campaign performance objectives, and opportunities to grow relationships.

  • Oversee program budgets, invoicing and billing reconciliation

  • Manage one or more junior team members, appropriately delegating to maintain a balanced workload while providing training, support, inspiration and constructive feedback on their work

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6-8 years of Amazon Media experience, preferably on the Agency side and relevant to e-Retail/CPG

  • Experience in Amazon Sponsored Ads, Amazon DSP, and Retail

  • Strong professional presence and communication skills

  • Support /oversee project/accounts

  • Comprehensive data analysis and problem-solving skills; able to draw conclusions and with guidance, you can devise strategic recommendations based on findings

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills: pivot tables, vlookups, and chart building. Working knowledge of Visual Basic macros is a plus.

  • Additional Amazon software skills a plus (e.g. Skai, PacVue,)

  • Strong quantitative experience with proven ability to interpret data and craft recommendations

  • Able to evaluate and recommend specific partners/tactics/tools, draft plans/performance reports in a logical format/flow, and effectively articulate overall program objectives/approach/results

  • Capable of developing and maintaining relationships with key media partners/vendors

  • Detail-oriented and well-organized with effective communication skills (written & verbal)

  • Effective time management skills – able to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and issue-resolution skills, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Assume responsibility for the growth and vitality of the company’s media practice and of your clients’ business.

  • Develop and/or approve direction of RFPs that lead publishers in devising innovative approaches to meeting campaign objectives and delivering value.

  • Ensure accurate record keeping and finances on all accounts.

  • Work with cross-functional departments to ensure flawless execution.

  • Review final reconciliation of campaign and authorize client refunds if appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

8+ years of experience in Media at an agency

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of both awareness and performance digital media channels and strategies, including display, mobile, video, paid search, programmatic and social media

  • Previous success in the planning, development and management of digital media campaigns for brands or products

  • Experience with DoubleClick and other 3rd party tracking solutions preferred

  • Experience with the following technology platforms preferred (Self-Serve Programmatic DSPs, DFA, Facebook UI/FBX)

  • Ability to analyze data and deeply understanding of measurement practices, 3rd party measurement companies and web analytics

  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proven client service orientation with strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills

  • Ability to consistently perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment as an individual on a team

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated interest in keeping up with emerging technologies and digital marketing trends

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
