Snap Inc. Manager, Software Engineering in Seattle, Washington

We are looking for an Engineering Manager in mobile and product experience to join our Core Growth engineering team and drive the growth of Snapchat’s global community in a virtuous manner. The Core Growth team is Snap’s growth engineering platform and its mission is to grow our community by promoting real friendships while they feel safe to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world and have fun together. The team builds and operates key products for user acquisition, activation, discovery, and retention at Snap such as registration and onboarding, friend recommendations, search, sharing, notifications, among others. We are a distributed team and the location is flexible between LA, SF, MTV, Seattle etc. You’ll manage engineers across different locations, and collaborate with leaders and executives across Snap to deliver the highest quality for our product.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and manage cross-platform (iOS, Android) product and engineering roadmaps that will enable the foundations of our responsible growth product strategy

  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholder teams at Snap in order to align and deliver such product milestones

  • Closely collaborate with PMs in order to translate product requirements into technical designs, which are then turned into engineering roadmaps.

  • Build a scalable and sustainable mobile engineering foundation that will support our future product evolution

  • Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience working in software engineering

  • 2+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers

  • Experience as an IC in building mobile apps (iOS or Android)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading client teams contributing to large scale consumer applications

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company

  • Experience with product development in the growth space
