Nordstrom Manager, Program Management - Industrial Engineering in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

The Manager, Program Management is part of a key team of professionals that reimagines the future of workforce at Nordstrom. In this Manager, Program Manager role, you will work cross-functionally with a variety of technology, business, and HR teams to influence and drive Workforce Management key priorities.

What you'll do

  • Lead a world-class team of Industrial Engineers and analysts, focusing on building Workforce Management strategy, processes, and solutions

  • Develop your team. You will attract talent, coach and mentor team members while balancing between project timelines and team members' growth

  • Communicate Vision. Ensure your team has clear project vision in partnership with stakeholders. Ensure your team goals and success metrics are clearly defined and roles and responsibilities across the project team are clear. Able to provide status updates and risk/mitigation strategies and communicate down the pyramid through SVP level

  • Lead the team in the creation of projects that help Nordstrom’s reimagine workforce to drive decision making and continuous improvement of customer experience

  • Lead design and planning, scoping and breaking down work into milestones, from problem conception to deployment to production, defining metrics to measure progress and business impact of projects while providing ongoing progress visibility to stakeholders

  • Effectively Partner and collaborate. Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with technology, business and HR partners and leaders to ensure relevant and successful delivery of change. Act as liaison with Product Manager/teams and business stakeholders and leads to ensure process changes are identified and new processes created

  • Identification and escalation of issues. Identify and capture issues/risks and ensure appropriate information is captured to size the impact and determine next steps.

  • Facilitate decision making. Provide strategic perspective to problem solving and issue resolution across multiple teams and businesses

  • Technical knowledge. Possess strong level knowledge of Industrial Engineering and Workforce Management principles

You own this if you have…

  • 3+ years of experience in managing analytics team ideally in Industrial Engineering

  • 4 year degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of Program Management experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful program delivery

  • Expert knowledge of program management, Industrial Engineering and Workforce Management principles

  • Demonstrated change management and team development experience.

  • Proven ability to excel and lead by example in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, change and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in Process Design with understanding of impacts on technology.

  • Understanding of software engineering practices and methods

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships

  • Experience leading teams of business and technical stakeholders to deliver results

  • Ability to track and maintain multiple projects and deliverables

  • Strong partnership and relationship development skills

  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
