The Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a full time Manager of Program Operations - Business Intelligence.

RADBIT The Radiology Business Intelligence Team (RADBIT) creates and maintains products and processes that drive data-driven decision making within the UW School of Medicine Radiology Department.The Manager of Program Operations - Business Intelligence has experience in project, portfolio, and program management as well as demonstrated abilities in process management and tool development. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, excels at communication with a variety of stakeholders (including leadership) and has experience in tool development themselves. They may lead, manage and mentor up to two direct reports. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management:

  • Manages all aspects of project management including initiation, planning, execution, risks and monitoring

  • Mitigates project issues, risks, and escalations, and ensure project delivery and overall success

  • Define project tasks / scope and resource requirements; assemble and lead project teams

  • Tracks, manages and reports status of current efforts, achieved milestones, and current risks and issues in formal documented status reports and in a variety of meeting venues

  • Maintain standard project management documentation and metricsProcess Improvement:

  • Leverage process improvement methodologies to initiate process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness

  • Engage with, build relationships and represent Business Intelligence in projects that include cross-functional teams and whole department initiatives

  • Research, analyze and evaluate new and emerging technologies, practices, and methodologies in support of project, portfolio and process managementProduct Development:

  • Create, maintain, and revise BI solutions (dashboards, reports, tools and processes) for clinical operations, finance, education, and operations, utilizing a variety of tools such as Power BI, Tableau, working in SQL

  • Explain analytics product functions, approach, limitations, accuracy and other details to a wide variety of audiences using language and techniques appropriate for the situation.

  • Lead vision for products based on stakeholders. Suggest features and guide and/or execute with team

  • Mentor other staff as needed with issues developing tools

  • Create and update end user and technical documentation of BI solutionsLeadership:

  • Work with upper leadership to prioritize projects, and maintain pipeline of status, communication and goals

  • Assign work within team to effectively manage projects and foster development of personnel

  • Create strong morale; share wins and successes; define success in terms of the whole team

  • Clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions; set clear objectives; monitor progress and results

  • Manage (including goal setting, performance review, interviewing, team culture, etc.) and support the career development of up to two direct reports to ensure job satisfaction, retention and team execution of goals

  • Create and update process documentation of BI team workflows

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analysis or related field or experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree.

  • Minimum of 4+ years experience in project, program and/or product management skills that includes at least 3+ years of data analysis or BI product development. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a research university or large healthcare enterprise

  • Some experience or background in a consulting environment

  • Experience implementing governance or process improvement processes

  • Project Management certifications (PMP, etc.)

  • Knowledge of project management standards (PMBOK)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex concurrent projects and competing deadlines

  • Experience with project and product development tools: issue tracking, documenting requirements, project management (including Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite)

  • Leadership experience managing projects and personnel within a team environment

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, technical documentation skills and presentation abilities

  • Portfolio of developed tools created in prior role(s), experience with Power BI, Tableau & SQL

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business and technical design considerations and facilitate problem solving/issue resolution in the context of a customer service frame

CONDITITONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Schedule is normally 8a to 5p, M-F but is not always fixed and workload does vary. The incumbent¹s first responsibility is to complete tasks rather than keep to a fixed schedule. Flexibility in schedule and intensity of work is necessary.

  • Position is suitable/eligible for hybrid work

  • Some travel between sites will be necessary by UW Health Services or other shuttles.
