Job Description
The Mgr, Marketplace - Category Management (MMCM) in Marketplace sits within digital and is responsible for achieving Nordstrom customer outcomes which are predominately focused on driving product sales within focused categories. The MMCM achieves these outcomes through strategically growing Marketplace sellers once launched on Nordstrom’s marketplace platform. The MMCM will use industry insights, internal & external inputs to drive category strategy that support company goals in driving customer growth and trips.
We are looking for a someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves which includes defining & building new processes to utilize within the team and with merchandising counterparts and partner teams. The right candidate will be comfortable working with large data sets, undefined processes, and problem solving. The MMCM will work closely with Nordstrom Merchandising Group (NMG), Digital Merchandising, Ecommerce Merchandising, and the Marketplace team to support sellers and company goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop category marketplace assortment strategies in collaboration with the Marketplace team, Digital Merchandising, Ecommerce Merchandising, and NMG.
Create assortment strategy for categories needed to achieve the plan for assigned categories
Manage a portfolio of sellers within assigned categories, prioritizing effectively to maximize business results
Work closely with category focused teams in NMG, Ecomm Merchandising and Digital to align marketplace priorities with company priorities
Analyze data to inform digital opportunities that maximize product sales while increasing customer engagement for assigned categories
Influence internally and externally to drive success for all parties engaged in Marketplace
Partner directly with marketplace sellers to grow the business, maintain competitive selection and deliver a best-in-class customer experience
Collaborate directly with Seller Acquisition and Onboarding to communicate strategies and inform sourcing priorities for assigned categories
Create and implement team processes, reports, and data analysis that can successfully scale to all categories and other teams
Partner with Operations team to ensure seller performance evaluation and support in seller discussions as it relates to operations

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience, required
6+ years professional experience in a large matrixed organization
Proficiency with date-driven decision-making skills and technology systems required
Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications
Prior experience in retail merchandising strategy as a merchant, seller/brands, or digital merchandiser
Understanding of e-commerce merchandising and digital inputs that can influence success online
Comfortable with constant change, building and iterating processes regularly
Managing priorities to effectively drive a business when everything is an opportunity
Nice to have: Experience with e-commerce, marketplace platforms and aggregators like Mirakl, ChannelAdvisosr, Shopify, Rithum

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $103,500-$175,000 annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
