Amazon Commissioning (ACx) is seeking an innovative and analytical Learning & Development (L&D) Program Manager who will be responsible for shaping the onboarding, training, and career development of the Americas (AMER) ACx team. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a cross functional, fast-paced environment; has training development, program management and communication skills.
As the AMER ACx L&D Program Manager, you will be responsible for creation and execution of an accelerated roadmap to support all AMER regions. Successful candidates are collaborators who work closely with cross-functional teams to effectively prioritize and deploy training programs based on team and business need. The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
Key job responsibilities
Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements Leads with a data-focused approach to evaluate current technical team skill sets, existing training resource quality, and new training resources to continually raise the “bar” for each team role at each level Conduct skill assessments of team members - directly and in partnership with team managers - to develop targeted training curriculums for all Cx team roles Develops and implements recorded training and experiential training on technical systems and specialty components Partners with internal Data Center (DC) Operations customers to develop training that aligns with customer needs Supports weekly onboarding and new hire equipment setup calls and related support Writes narratives to communicate training mental model and changes needed to be made to it
About the team
The ACx team is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization. This team of veteran professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Architectural Engineers, Project Managers, Operators and seasoned Amazonians are uniquely positioned to provide deeply detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices. We are focused on ensuring the rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining full transparency, recording metrics of manufacturer/contractor/equipment issues pre-PFHO, and identifying opportunities for all our peers and customers.
The Commissioning Engineers (CxE) provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. CxEs review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and manage third-party commissioning vendors in the performance of onsite pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing. They take Ownership of their projects’ successes by Diving Deep to resolve technical issues and having Bias for Action to address everchanging schedule and coordination demands onsite. Additionally, CxEs communicate lessons learned and continuously collaborate on program improvements.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or related field
• 5+ year's of experience developing and delivering technical training
• 7+ years of program or project management experience
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
• Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership in a data-focused deliverable
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years’ experience driving process improvements
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), Engineering Management, or technical field
• Certification in training and development from the Association for Talent Development (ATD), International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), SHRM or similar organization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
