The UW MEDICINE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a full time, day shift, LEAD OPERATIONAL SERVICES ANALYST - FINANCE BUSINESS SYSTEMS. The LEAD OPERATIONAL SERVICES ANALYST - FINANCE BUSINESS SYSTEMS manages the FBS operational work by delivering solutions to internal customers, either personally, or via delegation and teamwork with other FBS team members. Finance Business Systems (FBS) is a departmental computing group embedded within UW Medicine Accounting. Our mission is to provide specialized, highly responsive, and dedicated IT support for critical enterprise financial applications and to provide automations to support the business process needs of the Accounting and Finance teams. Specifically, the FBS scope includes providing front-line IT support for our users with a high service level of availability and reliability for the applications that the enterprise uses to produce financials. Additionally, the team builds custom financial applications, data interfaces, business intelligence tools and SharePoint sites, implementing and supporting these custom tools, along with vendor financial applications, through coordination with UW Medicine ITS and other teams, successfully integrating them into the UW Medicine systems environment. UWM Accounting processes and systems support the financial reporting for over $3.5B in annual operating revenues and expenditures. The overarching mission of this position is to help the UWM Finance and Accounting resources perform their work more efficiently in support of the mission to improve the health of the public. By improving the efficiency of analyzing data and workflows and providing valuable system applications and integrations to further automation we are able to both eliminate manual data processing tasks and reduce the likelihood of errors. RESPONSIBILITIES: The LEAD OPERATIONAL SERVICES ANALYST - FINANCE BUSINESS SYSTEMS will:

  • Deliver new PCs; coordinate with UWM ITS for server builds, network security diagrams, security reviews; managing application, AD, and SharePoint site permission requests; track and coordinate resolution to application and automated process break/fix scenarios; and coordinate application upgrades

  • Be the central point of contact for any and all operational matters specific to internal customer/stakeholder groups, and will represent FBS in a liaison capacity

  • Maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by developing a solid understanding of business strategic initiatives, currently deployed applications and systems, and pain points, from which he/she will team with the FBS Director, ITS, the Accounting Projects team and end users to develop proposals and architect solutions

  • Manage the FBS documentation library, the FBS Worklist, and site content for the FBS internal and external SharePoint pages

  • Provide technical expertise in systems architecture, programming interfaces and custom applications, designing databases, formulating SQL, and reporting, with the ability to jump in and assist with this work when necessary.

  • Works with the FBS Director to provide an additional perspective on FBS strategic direction and solution ideas, and as a front line lead, to also provide feedback for the director on personnel performance critical for annual evaluations

  • Manage a large number of activities concurrently, requiring excellent organization and interpersonal skills to ensure that initiatives are completed in a quality manner on time and within budget

  • Work with and reconcile the demands of a varied constituency of internal customers within UW Medicine Accounting and Finance, and occasionally Supply Chain - all within the context of a constrained financial environment REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree a technology field, a business-related field, or other discipline that demonstrates analytical and communications abilities

  • Six to eight years experience: 5+ years working with financial systems, preferably Allscripts ERP HEFM/HEMM or another ERP system within the healthcare field 5+ years of demonstrated customer service experience working effectively with a team to provide solutions to multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex environment 3+ years in a formal team leadership position related to support of custom or vendor software. This may be as a business analyst, technical lead, project manager, program manager, or operations manager. 3+ years of programming experience building custom applications, data integrations, and scripts using tools such as VB.NET, C#.NET, SSIS, PowerShell, VBA and MuleSoft 3+ years of data analysis experience 3+ years of MS SQL Server experience 2+ years developing reports in SSRS, Crystal Reports, BOE or a similar tool DESIRED: Must be self-driven and produce results without a lot of direction from management Must be able to work in teams and individually Effective written and oral communication with internal as well as external customers Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with management, end users and IT team members Record of strong analytical skills being practically applied Personal philosophy of continuous process improvement Proactive; anticipates problems and seeks solutions Effectively manages diversity in the workplace Highest integrity Values UW Medicine’s mission Delivery and support of financial applications within the healthcare industry Demonstrates a balanced understanding of technological, operational and human dimensions in a business environment Credible presence with a professional image; develops trust quickly; highly collaborative Able to communicate complex information to diverse audiences Commitment to completing tasks with great attention to detail and with a routine, critical self-review Takes initiative in acquiring new skills and increasing proficiency for personal effectiveness History of successful interaction with all levels of personnel within an organization UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest.
