Job Title: Remote Industrial Design Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for the design, development, review, and release of new delivery stations as well as capacity enhancements and improvements of existing stations. This role requires providing process expertise in engineering design aspects such as material flow, labor placement, and equipment layout. Collaborate with various teams including Design Managers, CAD drafters, and Real Estate Transaction managers to ensure efficient and safe designs. You will also be tasked with implementing new design standards and expanding or retrofitting new processes to increase capacity and enhance safety and productivity at delivery stations.

Ideally looking for someone that has industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.

Must have experience utilizing AutoCAD and Bluebeam. If a candidate has architecture experience, they will need experience designing large industrial or warehouse projects.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Degree can be in engineering, construction, or architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• MBA or Master's in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation

• Experience in designing, implementing, and launching of fulfillment, delivery, sortation centers

• Knowledge with Simulation or 3D modeling

• Experience to collaborate with design engineering, construction, real estate managers, execution project managers

• Experience to work as Design Engineer or Lead Design Engineer for physical infrastructure designs

• Knowledge of delivering successful Fulfillment, Distribution, Warehouse, or Delivery station designs

• Experience in design engineering and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Visio, Solidworks, etc.

• Process Engineering skills and Project Management skills

• Experience to build relationships with business partners and key stakeholders, and the experience to work under pressure in a cross functional organization

• Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other OE tools

• Knowledge of Excel, including use of look-ups and pivot tables

• Experience to work in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment

• Interpersonal skills

• Written and verbal communication skills

Compensation range: $48.00-$50.00/hr

Work Site

This is a remote role with 20-25% travel to sites across the US for new building retrofits and expansions of old buildings for projects they manage. Candidates must be located in California, Oregon, or Washington state.

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our North America Design Engineering Team who will support the expansion of Delivery Station Network in North America (NA). We are seeking a Design Engineer to drive delivery station process, building design, and standardization across our delivery network. As a member of the NA Design Engineering team the Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing the delivery and sortation network, enabling operations processes to meet safety, customer experience, quality, and cost goals.

The Logistics Team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Delivery Station Network.
