[ Global is currently seeking Deckhands to join our team located in Seattle, WA. This person will be responsible for safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant deckhand duties.  This is an entry-level, full-time position with a rotating schedule.  See below for additional information on the typical work schedule.]{times="" new="" roman""=""}

• [Responsible for getting underway, mooring, anchoring, and line-handling in all weather conditions]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Assist with the towing, deploying, and stowing of oil containment boom]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Control lines to moor vessel to wharves, tie up vessel to another vessel, or rig towing lines]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Perform lookout duties while underway - including watching for other vessels, monitoring traffic conditions and potentially unsafe conditions onboard, and otherwise]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Keep vessel and equipment maintained by performing a variety of maintenance and cleaning duties]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Perform maintenance and construction tasks as required]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Perform minor engineering repairs and engineering rounds as directed]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Perform other duties as assigned]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Ensure that safety equipment is utilized and appropriate guidelines are followed for all tasks involving physical risk or hazardous materials.]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Carry out and complete assigned tasks within the legal requirements of USCG and other regulatory agencies.]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Participate in meetings, training, drills, and safety audits as required by USCG & company policy.]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Drive company vehicles as needed.]{times="" new="" roman""=""}

• [All employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States ]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Must have a valid driver's license and valid car insurance, and submit a driving record ]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Must be able to provide and/or obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Must be able to provide and/or obtain a WA State Boaters Card within 30 days of employment]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Must complete GDS mandatory training and other required programs]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and Physical]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills ]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Excellent interpersonal and team skills]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
• [Current knowledge of DOT regulations preferred]{times="" new="" roman""=""}
