Dataplane Architect (BIG-IP Next)

 

You will:

  • Work closely with product management and development teams to ensure software and product architectures are developed in line with the vision and future direction of company.
  • Drive projects and the workflow of teams, serving as mentor to all engineering levels.
  • Partner with management on driving product timelines.
  • Participate on cross-functional design projects, serving as consultant to management in long-range company planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research/advancement.
  • Generate and promotes new theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies within a specialty area.
  • Present in both internal and external settings on product functionality and technical advancements. Projects long term technical direction and influences product roadmap.

     

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating, identifying, and developing software solutions.
  • Leading software development projects.
  • Documenting and recording every aspect of an application or software.
  • Training and overseeing the activities of the members of the development team.
  • Planning, tracking and scheduling software deliverables.
  • Locating and directing solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface.
  • Looking for problems within software systems and driving issues to resolution.
  • Developing good working relationships with other employees, such as Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Programmers and Engineers.

     

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant, work-related experience as a software architect
  • Excellent coding skills in Go, C/C++, or similar
  • Mastery of standard data structures and algorithms, analyzing run-time complexities, etc. is required.
  • Must have strong background in networking technologies & protocols like IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP etc.
  • Experience working in a container orchestration environment is needed. Preferably in Kubernetes environment.
  • Deeper understanding of cloud scale patterns and distributed systems development is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge in database modeling, storage and RDBMS is required. Knowledge on key-value stores like REDIS is a plus.
  • Experience in modeling and designing customer facing APIs and its related lifecycle management is needed.
  • Experience in writing automated unit tests.
  • Experience with gitlab/github or other source code management is needed.
  • Proficient knowledge of the operation and development designs of agile software.
