Required Skills:

Data Scientist (Product) Responsibilities:

  1. Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in order to contribute to the continued growth of Facebook's infrastructure.

  2. Apply experience in quantitative analysis and data mining to improve, optimize, and expand Meta’s infrastructure across a variety of domains with an emphasis on long-term and strategic initiatives.

  3. Work cross-functionally as a strategic partner to define priorities and develop project roadmaps in synergy with partner teams.

  4. Build consensus and earn commitment from partners.

  5. Drive execution through fast iteration.

  6. Ensure coordination of projects across related workflows to maximize impact and avoid duplication and overlaps.

  7. Drive efficient data exploration and modeling.

  8. Build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions to large-scale web, mobile and data infrastructure problems by leveraging or developing statistical and machine learning methodologies.

  9. Generalize methodologies for broader application within and outside domain.

  10. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  11. Exercise limited judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Foreign equivalent accepted.

  2. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:

    1. Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets
    1. Data querying language(s) including SQL
    1. Scripting language(s) including Python
    1. Statistical or mathematical software including R, SAS, or Matlab
    1. Applied statistics or experimentation, including A/B testing, in an industry setting
    1. Machine learning techniques
    1. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
    1. Relational databases
    1. Large-scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems and
    1. Quantitative analysis techniques, including: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics.

Public Compensation:

$166,698/year to $196,900/year + bonus + equity + benefits
