Facebook Data Scientist, Product Analytics - Business Integrity in Seattle, Washington

Summary:

Decisions made in Business Integrity change the course of Facebook. In Business Integrity, we target some of the most critical issues facing our company, from election and commerce integrity to coordinated networks of bad actors targeting our ads and commerce businesses. These issues require inventive, systems-level solutions that enable the business of Facebook while protecting people against harm. Our growing team is looking for a Data Scientist with the courage to think big, the ability to generate deep insight, and the conviction to take on the defining challenges of our company.

Required Skills:

  1. Understand the complex problems that users and businesses face and identify opportunities to address them

  2. Answer foundational questions around impact, value, cost and trade offs

  3. Develop a long-term strategy for building the right infrastructure and tools, grounded by excellent analytics work

  4. Influence executives in order to drive the right investments for long term success

  5. Build partnerships with other teams in order to scale analytical approaches and frameworks across similar efforts in the company

  6. Autonomous responsibility for a large scope of influence

  7. Develop durable, long-term metrics that indicate progress of integrity efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors/Masters Degree with 7+ years (or Ph.D. with 5+ years) of experience working within an analytical role

  2. Leadership skills in driving large complex efforts with many stakeholders to successful outcomes

  3. Communication skills and experience influencing key stakeholders and building cross-functional partnerships

  4. Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D.

  2. 8+ years of experience working in an analytics organization
