Blue Origin LLC Avionics Software Engineer II - Lunar Transportation in Seattle, Washington

You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will support the development of the software infrastructure for the Vehicle Test Bed (VTB) for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team\'s impact on all aspects of the VTB software and systems. The VTBs will be used to ensure the correctness and performance of our avionics and ground support equipment for spaceflight systems.You will use your software expertise and collaboration skills to lead or participate in the following: Develop the software requirements Develop the software architecture Develop software for various prototype objectives Integrate software models, sensor drivers, and hardware emulators Develop software for the user interface Diagnose and fix software problems at multiple levels, including installation, deployment, configuration,server-side and client-sideissues Support the test execution team for avionics software verification Qualifications: B.S. in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical discipline 2+ years ofreal-time embeddedsoftware experience Strong and active development skills in C / C++ and Python Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and communicate to a diverse user base. Proficiency in computer science fundamentals like algorithms and data structures. Ability to solve problems by writing efficient code, even when given incomplete or ambiguous requirements. Excellent attention to detail. Strong task ownership and a willingness toperform low-leveltasks when needed. Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development, review, deployment, and support phases of the software product lifecycle. Experience with IP networking (IEEE 802.3) Because of the need for hands-on work to support hardware-software integration, this position requires on-site work at Kent, WA. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired (but not required): Master of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines. Experience developing software for hardware in the loop testing Experience leading development of a software simulation testbed for a complex physical system Experience integrating with NASA software simulation environments such as TRICK. Experience with distributed simulation implementation standards such as HLA or DIS. Experience writing software that efficiently handles the production, distribution, and storage oflarge data sets.
