The associate creative director, Social is a consumer-minded leader ready to propel Starbucks into an innovative future. This multi-faceted creative brings social/digital agency or brand experience. They have extensive knowledge of social platforms, and all forms of creative (photography, video, design, illustration, copy, etc.). This role partners with social strategy and marketing teams to take a connection and culture-forward approach to go-to-market strategies. This leader brings bold vision and strong opinions on channel-specific creative to craft best-in-class experiences that inspire customers and drive brand engagement.

As an associate creative director , you will…

· Shepherd social-first concepts from ideation to execution, guiding the work of internal creative teams and external agencies.

· Provide oversight of day-to-day creative planning and execution – guiding direction on large initiatives and campaigns, alongside cross-functional partners to ensure programs meet business and brand objectives while growing brand relevance.

· Develop, evolve, and deliver innovation in creative processes and operations, focusing on efficiencies and collaboration.

· Challenge and inspire team members to achieve business results and contribute to a warm and inclusive environment.

· Manage team of direct reports, leading development and conducting performance reviews.

We’d love to hear from people with:

· Bachelor’s degree in design/marketing or equivalent job-related experience.

· 6+ years of experience in design/marketing/advertising.

· Multi-faceted portfolio representing crafted quality work in social media, conceptual campaigns, and product launches – through the use of design, photography, copy, and video. Please submit portfolio as part of your application.

· Comprehensive understanding of social channels and industry trends.

· Experience managing team of creative direct reports

· Strong people skills: able to lead and motivate creative personnel.

· Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

· Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within social channel marketing: including knowledge of user behavior, competitive marketing, emerging platforms, and social technology.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to think strategically and synthesize creative direction across multiple simultaneous projects to ensure a cohesive look and feel, spanning campaigns and channels.

  • Broad understanding of established and emerging social platforms and their nuances. Ability to generate original campaign ideas and collaborate across functions to integrate social ideas with broader campaign frameworks.

· Demonstrated ability to execute against brand guidelines and bring brand voice to life in a consistent, ongoing manner across platforms.

  • Concise, compelling communicator; persuasive and articulate. Able to answer difficult questions clearly and provide support for executive presentations.

  • Strong people manager; understanding of operational management, talent development, and corporate processes.

· Excellent editorial voice that easily crafts impactful written messages designed to share and educate across a wide range of audiences.

  • Able to gain alignment and buy-in cross-functionally for key strategies.

· Seizes opportunities to learn and push for fresh thinking to navigate a dynamic customer landscape and business environment; celebrates experiments to push boundaries.

· Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
