Job Description

NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week in order to be considered for this position.

We don't just sell cutting-edge fashion and accessories, we create it. Our talented fashion design team — the Nordstrom Product Group — develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels. From traditional to trendy, this team is shaping the styles and looks our customer love.

Nordstrom has an opportunity for an Assistant Print Designer to join the team. The ideal Assistant Print Designer is experienced and has an eye for trend and the ability to create original saleable concepts that encompass style, color and fabric as directed.

A day in the life…

  • Actively participates in the conceptual development of print story and seasonal direction

  • Consistently shop and research marketplace, including our competitors for inspirations and opportunities in product, fabric, wash, color

  • Assist in developing concepts and art for product line and advocate for design ideas by presenting to art leadership and cross functional partners

  • Colorway development and application to silhouettes/items

  • Ability to clean/create production ready artwork and understanding of print processes

  • Manage administration and follow up of product design process such as presentation boards creation to ensure team stays organized and hits required deadlines, and ask effective questions and solicit feedback to understand needs

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to simplify, innovate, and accelerate successful outcomes

    You own this if you have…

  • College degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related field.

  • 1+ years print design experience

  • Strong design and conceptual skills with ability to identify key trends and determine how they appropriately relate to the brand/ consumer

  • Strong knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques & fabric and strong sense of textile and color application

  • Proficient in Illustrator and capable in Photoshop, InDesign, NED Graphics

  • Positive and passionate with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with business partners & team mates

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to multi task and prioritize

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $51,500 - $83,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
