UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to join the nursing Administration team. The Assistant Administrator for Patient Care Services is a member of the senior nursing leadership team of the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), providing key administrative leadership and operational guidance to the medical center. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of multiple Critical Care, Rehab and Rehab therapy programs including human resource management; staff and physician relationships; financial management and reporting; patient access and throughput; program efficiencies; customer service and regulatory compliance.

Responsible for operational and strategic leadership of multiple critical care programs Respiratory Therapy, Rehab and Rehab Therapies programs through operationalizing the medical center's mission, vision and goals . The position requires work across multiple disciplines, services and care settings across UW Medicine. This position provides direction and leadership for all aspects of operations across critical care, Rehab, and rehab therapies including: a focus on patient experience through deployment of Patients Are First tactics and attainment of service goals; professional nursing and therapist development including provision of mentorship to direct reports; workforce management (staffing models and staff deployment); building strong collaborative relationships with all levels of medical, therapy and nursing leadership; achievement of financial targets; program efficiencies including management of patient access and throughput; development and achievement of department specific quality measures through a robust quality improvement process; ensuring regulatory compliance at all times (TJC, DOH).

Oversees the complex and integral operations of Critical Care Services at UWMC , to include: Surgical ICU; Cardiac Care ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical/Oncology ICU, the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program and Respiratory Care Services. Oversees the operations of Rehab and the Rehab Therapies, to include: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. All of the included areas provide quaternary care to very complex patients. Will also provide strategic leadership to the Northwest campus ICUs. The provision of excellent ICU and Rehab care is integral to UW Medicine's Financial Integrity Transformation (FIT) plan. Oversees 525 FTEs and budgets totaling over $101,000,000. Collaborates with a broad number of departments and leaders within UWMC and across UW Medicine. Represents UWMC on various committees across UW Medicine and in local, statewide and national initiatives and collaboratives.

REQUIREMENTS
WA RN license Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or other related healthcare/science field AND at least four years of management experience in Critical Care operations in a large academic healthcare setting. Successful track record of effective management/leadership and program management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Teamwork skills conducive to a collaborative, professional environment
