As an APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Engineer at Group14, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful development and launch of new battery materials products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement APQP processes and methodologies, manage quality risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :

-Develop and execute APQP strategies and plans for new battery materials products, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.

-Lead cross-functional APQP teams, including representatives from engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

-Conduct risk assessments and identify potential quality issues or challenges early in the product development process, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

-Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of APQP activities and monitor progress towards project milestones.

-Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to ensure compliance with APQP requirements and facilitate seamless integration of components or materials into the final product.

-Closely coordinate with Quality on root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement in product quality and reliability.

-Lead the development and maintenance of APQP documentation, including control plans, FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), process flow diagrams, and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions.

-Provide training and support to internal teams on APQP methodologies, tools, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality excellence and accountability.

-Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to battery materials and APQP practices, incorporating relevant insights into our processes and standards.

-Collaborate with customer-facing teams to address customer feedback, concerns, or quality-related inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR :

-Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

-Proven experience (5 years) in APQP, quality engineering, or related roles within the battery materials or energy storage industry.

-Strong knowledge of APQP methodologies, tools, and best practices, with hands-on experience implementing APQP processes for new product development projects.

-Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), automotive industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949), and regulatory requirements related to battery materials manufacturing.

-Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.

-Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

-Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in documentation and process execution.

-Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

-Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as APQP software, FMEA software, statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab), and Microsoft Office Suite.

-Certification in APQP, Six Sigma, or other relevant quality management methodologies is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
