SUMMARY:Provides support to the crewing teams for the proper manning of vessels, which includes ensuring the mariners have the appropriate qualifications for the positions filled and arranging timely and cost-effective travel for the mariners. Responsible for time keeping and payroll verification for Tug fleets. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides administrative support to the crewing teams with minimal supervision. Assures that the vessel is crewed with qualified, physically fit, and able mariners for all needed positions. This entails verification that all crew documents and credentials, training, medical and drug free requirements are valid and current. Coordinates crew travel to and from the vessel in a cost-effective manner. Prepares and maintains integrity of all personnel records in coordination with other company departments. Identifies discrepancies and expirations of personnel qualification. Provides high quality customer service and direct communication regarding assignments for mariners. Interacts with union hiring halls to dispatch mariners as required. Assists with standardization and streamlining of departmental processes and training. Provides reports on manpower, work utilization, assignments, and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION:High School diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of experience in administration or an associate’s/bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE:1-3 years’ experience in marine crewing operations preferred. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word in addition to programs such as Filenet, NS5, Smartsheet, Anderson-Kelly web portal, SIU, AMO and USCG web portals. COMPETENCIES:Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. OTHER: Must be available/on-call after hours for emergency crew requests. May require travel to multiple locations. JOB SCOPE:Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
