Description

We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounting Manager in Seattle, Washington. This hybrid role (on-site primary) is centered on managing various accounting functions, specifically in the non-profit sector. The Accounting Manager will be expected to work on-site one day a week, with the flexibility to perform the role remotely for the remaining days.

Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day accounting tasks and operations

• Prepare for annual audits and assist in the execution of these audits

• Prepare and maintain complex grants reports

• Support the end of the year closing process

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable

• Utilize QuickBooks Online for various accounting activities

• Assist in obtaining new grants and maintain compliance with existing grants

• Conduct audit preparations for the forthcoming year

• Support the billing functions within the organization

• Oversee post-grant accounting and reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or related field

• Proficiency in accounting functions and financial concepts

• Expertise in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience in auditing, including financial audits and audit preparation

• Familiarity with billing functions and procedures

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software

• Experience with government grants, private grants, and federal grants

• Knowledge of grant accounting and post-grant procedures

• Experience with year-end closings and related financial activities

• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
