Apply TODAY for immediate consideration!* _ Primary Role_ Investigates complaints and determines corrective action per company procedures. _ Key Accountabilities_ * Investigates complaints and determines corrections action per company procedures. * Locates and marks company facilities associated with PA One Call System to include overseeing and performing. * Sets up or directs the set up of barricades and places safety lights * around work site to protect workers from street traffic. * Operations of valves and fire hydrants. * Operations of pneumatic or electric tools. * Completes all necessary forms, sketches and field notes and be knowledgeable of usage of maps and records. * Investigates complaints and determines corrections action per company procedures. * Works on the Valve Maintenance Program including locating valves and making operations, assisting with shutdowns using the valve truck, entering data into GIS. * Any other duties assigned by supervisors. _ Knowledge/Skills_ * General knowledge of water hydraulics, distribution systems repair, and maintenance practices. * Familiarity with PennDot publications for setting up traffic control. * Familiarity with the proper completion of company forms. * Knowledge of maintenance procedures for a variety of hand tools. * Working knowledge of WB/Scranton distribution system components preferred. * Good customer skills, demeanor and appearance. * Skillful use of hand tools. * Computer working knowledge preferred. * Ability to do basic math. * Ability to read and understand instructions, safety rules, maps, diagrams, etc. _ Experience/Education_ * HS graduate or equivalent required. * Vocational education, apprentice training, on the job training preferred. * Experience working in distribution-related work for 3 years. * Time in Network Department preferred. * Valve and hydrant repair experience preferred. _ Physical Requirement/Environmental Conditions_ * Pass DOT Physical * Lifting 100 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. * Wet and humid: Wet contact with water or other liquids. * Humid: Atmospheric conditions with moisture content sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort. * Noise and Vibrations: Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction. * Hazards: Situations in which individual is exposed to the definite risk of bodily injury. * Exposure to: Odors, toxic conditions, chemicals dusts or dusts or poor ventilation. * Ability to work in confined spaces. _ Certifications and Licenses_ * Possess Valid PA Driver License(required) with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report. * DEP Distribution License preferred or ability to obtain within designated time frame after hire. _ Work Schedule_ * Available for 24/7 call-out and carryover time. * Available to be on call on a rotating schedule every 5 weeks. * Tuesday-Saturday 7:30AM-4:00PM. _ Competencies_ Champions safety Customer obsessed Cultivates innovation Nimble learning Drives Results Collaborates * Join American Water...We Keep Life Flowing™ * American Water is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and prohibits employment discrimination for employees and applicants based on his or her age, race, color, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, marital status, citizenship, or because they are an individual with a disability, protected veteran or other status protected by federal, state, and local laws.
