Nammo Defense Systems, Inc Sr. Manufacturing Engineer in Scranton, Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and constructing manufacturing facilities and equipment. This position analyzes and evaluates facility specifications, material resources and structural design of manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Uses knowledge of product design, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly processes, and quality control to develop new or improved manufacturing methods using existing or new equipment

• Investigate, recommend, and justify new technologies, manufacturing methods and equipment to meet competitive business needs and improve efficiencies

• Assists management with decisions related to production capabilities, production timelines, staffing requirements and costs to ensure efficient production flow

• Coordinates and aids in the design, evaluation, planning, integration, testing and completion of engineering projects

• Design custom tooling when required

• Document processes and train operators and other personnel

• Create and revise documents such as Work Instructions, Training Guides, etc.

• Analyze process outputs using statistical methods to ensure stability

• Autodesk software proficiency

• Initiate and drive systemic improvement activities

• Create and maintain technical documentation

• Troubleshoots to identify the root cause of problems and provides solutions to management

• Provide advanced technical support to production lines and other engineers

• Plan and execute statistical methods to drive continuous improvement

• Initiate and drive cost reduction activities

• Provide support to the Engineering Manager as needed

• Must maintain a high-quality consciousness

• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or other engineering related field

• Must possess 5-8+ years of related experience

• Experience with electronic wiring and electronic system schematics

• Proficient in PLC programming and automation integration required

• Autodesk software suite experience required (or other equivalent 3D modeling software)

• High volume manufacturing experience preferred

• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics when used in automated systems

• Experience with SPC preferred

• Excellent ownership of problems

• High quality customer service (both internal and external)

• In-Depth knowledge of advanced manufacturing methods and systems

• Excellent mechanical design skills

• Proficient in advanced problem-solving skills including statistical analysis

• Excellent communications skills (oral & written)
