Reference #: 4507076 THE POSITION The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is looking for a conscientious, responsible candidate to fill a full-time Security Officer 1 position at the Gino Merli Veterans Center located in Scranton, PA. Your position is responsible for the protection of persons and property at the Gino Merli Veterans Center.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK Your responsibilities involve patrolling areas regularly by car and on foot to ensure security, checking for theft, trespassing, and fire safety violations. Additionally, you will manage traffic and parking, enforce facility regulations regarding motor vehicles, help locate missing residents, collaborate with police in investigations, and assist residents during emergencies. You will also conduct investigations by collecting evidence and interviewing individuals involved.

Full-time employment, 40 hours/week Work hours may vary, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days and weekends Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): This position is located in Lackawanna County. Pennsylvania. You must be willing to work in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Experience in the security field. Experience in a nursing-type facility searching for missing residents or assisting residents during an emergency. Proficient with the use of Microsoft programs at a basic level.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
