Xpedition ECAD layout Desginer
Scottsdale, AZ
Contract Position
\$58.88-\$63.88/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Support high-stakes national security missions by creating innovative PCB designs, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and staying at the forefront of industry best practices in electronic design and manufacturing.
Design and Development: Create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, including designs for digital signal processing, high-frequency RF, and high-speed routing while managing interference considerations.
Advanced PCB Design: Develop multi-layer PCB designs (up to 20 layers) with detailed knowledge of PCB fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Documentation and Troubleshooting: Generate detailed PCB drawings, symbols, cells, footprints, and packaging, and troubleshoot design data and configuration issues with external vendors.
Collaboration: Work in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment to deliver innovative, flexible, and integrated solutions that meet evolving business needs.
Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends and developments to ensure designs and services align with or exceed industry best practices.
Compliance: Support General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) programs and projects while adhering to all policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor\'s degree in a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master\'s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with Xpedition VX2.13 or higher.
- Proven expertise with multi-layer PCB designs (up to 20 layers).
- In-depth knowledge of PCB design and fabrication processes.
- Extensive experience with PCB layout design, electronic packaging, and detailed drafting/documentation.
Teamwork: Experience working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.
Vendor Collaboration: Ability to troubleshoot design data and resolve configuration issues with external vendors.
Preferred:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
