Responsibilities Job Summary Responsible for all activities to ensure the timely, accurate and consistent accounting and reporting of the activity related to net patient revenue and other third-party reimbursement matters. Responsible for budgeting the gross and net revenues for the organization and explaining monthly and year to date variances. This position is responsible for performing complex financial analysis assignments, specifically related to reimbursement issues. The position contributes to the accuracy to network level net revenue reporting in the financial statements and develops impactful analytics. The position contributes to the organization's overall understanding of net revenue performance drivers. This position promotes an environment which a commitment to innovation and adding value to the organization is apparent. The position provides creative insights and critical thinking skills in determining the appropriate technique or process to complete complex job duties. Responsible for the use, upkeep and analysis of information from the net revenue software to provide appropriate valuation of Accounts Receivable. Reviews the monthly and annual computations of the organization’s net patient revenue. Analyze critical computations which include contractual, bad debt, charity and third party adjustments and allowances. Responsible for reconciliation to various source systems such as EMR, bank, net revenue software and ERP/GL. Review and assist with year-end analysis as required for external financial statement audit. Communicate and explain significant changes in computations noted above on a monthly and year to date basis. Possess knowledge of current Medicare and Medicaid payment rules and regulations. Acts as a technical resource regarding all reimbursement and special payment issues. Responsible for special accounting projects including, but not limited to, annual corporate tax returns, unclaimed property, research, captive insurance, and inventory. Provides a high level of financial and technical expertise and assistance to leaders by effectively preparing and communicating financial information including journal entries, financial planning, pro forma development, and account reconciliations as requested and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Assists with data collection and schedule preparation needed in order to complete organizations annual third party reimbursement report filings in areas such as Prop 202, UAR, Medicare cost reports and other reports as needed. Acts a lead for audit schedule preparations for the annual external audit.
