Responsibilities Job Summary Uses various operations-research and engineering principles, strategies, and analytical methods like computer modeling, statistics, discrete event simulation, and numerical algorithms to enable HonorHealth to enact optimal or near-optimal solutions to complex problems. Develops and supports innovative operations strategies and tactics to achieve dramatic improvements in cost, outcomes, reliability, and patient and caregiver experience. Develops simulations for proposed construction, remodeling, new technology, staffing, services, improvement project recommendations that enable leaders and staff to see the effects of these proposed operational or clinical changes. Provides presentations of existing and alternative models of operations and care delivery to enable leadership to make informed decisions and expand their options. Educates leadership and staff in the interpretation of models and data. Develops strong working relationships with leaders and other stakeholders to expand the understanding and use of operations modeling. Collaborates with counterparts and colleagues from other departments to design and optimize improvement recommendations. Ensures activities integrate seamlessly with other improvement departments and functions to maximize dramatic yet sustainable improvement. Works closely with Analytics to select tools and data required for modeling and simulation. Selects and supports improvement-tracking metrics. Researches, monitors, and assesses applicability of new methods and techniques. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Operations Research, or related field. Required Experience Four years of computer modeling and simulation experience in hospital-systems. Four years of hospital-systems improvement experience leading people, projects, and teams in performance/continuous/process/quality improvement. Demonstrated ability to champion the importance of striving to improve the outcomes, cost, quality, safety, and accessibility of healthcare services, with a focus on creating value. Demonstrated technical acumen with in-depth knowledge of standard improvement methodologies. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Demonstrated excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal relationship skills. Demonstrated technical, computer and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility and composure under pressure. Required
