We seek an Application Support Specialist to join the Enterprise Technology Command Center that would work with application and infrastructure monitoring, event response, incident remediation, and problem investigation. This individual will be tasked with automating manual processes and reducing incident occurrences.


A successful candidate will be quick to learn new environments, work well within the EOC team, as well as with other groups using monitoring as a service, and be good with pattern recognition and analytics.


What You'll Do

  • Participate in the ongoing process of investigating, troubleshooting, and providing resolution to technical issues in a 24x7x365 environment.

  • Utilize enterprise tools to monitor application performance and triage performance bottlenecks.

  • Accurately troubleshoot, reproduce, and document issues and other pertinent information in Incident or Problem tickets.

  • Document all problems and issues encountered during the shift and prepare shift turnover document.

  • Handle ad hoc requests and take on new procedures as required.

  • Create and maintain reports, team automation, and misc. scripts.

  • Assists in other areas of the department as necessary.


    What Youll Need

  • Experience with next-gen monitoring tools (Dynatrace, DataDog, New Relic, etc.)

  • Broad skill set in technology platforms (i.e., Unix, Windows, virtualization, storage, network)

  • Sound logical thinking, strong analytical reasoning skills, and strong troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to manage a critical situation including conference bridge and status reports

  • Experience with reporting Root Cause Analysis

  • Must have at least one year of hands-on experience working on performance monitoring gathering

  • Typically, 2+ years of experience in the role


    Nice to Have

  • Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Korn Shell, etc

  • Log analytics with tools such as Splunk or Elk

  • Dev Ops experience/skills on tools such as Git/GitHub, Ansible, Tower

  • Ability to manage problems across technical teams

  • ITIL v4 Experience - ServiceNow or Cherwell

  • Ability to drive for improvement opportunities such as early detection and faster recovery

  • Strong technical, written, analytical and verbal skills

  • Certification in Dynatrace, Datadog, or other enterprise monitoring toolset
