TheNetwork Administratoris responsible to maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide 24/7/365 support to GATES users.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Set up user accounts and permissions.
- Resolve problems reported by end user.
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
- Maintains ticket documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Provides ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Applies GATES patches/upgrades as required.
- Troubleshoots firewall issues with various internal and external users.
- Configures and maintains hardware VPNs to include patching and vulnerability mitigations.
- Troubleshoots GATES system issues to determine cause and implements appropriate repair for GATES systems issues.
- Accurately updates internal tracking mechanisms to ensure all required systems receive upgrades.
- Determines if trouble tickets require escalation to Level 3 support in a timely manner
- Contacts/collaborates with Level 3 personnel for trouble ticket resolution that requires Level 3 support
- Pulls GATES logs at various worldwide GATES sites to support Level 3 troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN\'s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN network administration support under Windows 2019 server and RHEL8.
- Experience with Palo Alto VPNs and PANOS software.
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking skills.
- Proven expertise in supporting and troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at speaking in technical or non-technical terms.
- Solutions-oriented multitasking professional.
- Able to follow Information Assurance Guidelines and Confidentiality Agreements to protect company and customer assets.
- This position requires a bachelor\'s degree with 3 years of experience.
- Must currently have and be able to maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Must have a current, valid Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
