JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Schuylkill, located in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, is a member of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC), and is accepting applications for a Part Time Assistant Director of Athletics for Game Day Operations and Recruitment.

This part-time position is responsible for all aspects of the athletics program in regards to game day operations for each of the 13 varsity sports. They will oversee all game day student workers, in game statistical scorekeeping, broadcasting the games via livestreaming platforms and set up and clean up of all necessary game day operations. They will assist all head coaches in recruitment of student athletes to their programs which will include but not be limited to: sending out emails, making phone calls, meeting with prospective student athletes on campus for visits, attending open house events run by admissions.

Here are the general responsibilities for the Assistant Athletic Director (AD) position focusing on game day operations and recruiting:

Game Day Operations 1. Oversee Student Workers: Manage and supervise all game day student workers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities. 2. Statistical Scorekeeping: Ensure accurate in-game statistical scorekeeping for all varsity sports. 3. Broadcasting: Coordinate and manage the broadcasting of games via livestreaming platforms, ensuring high-quality production. 4. Setup and Cleanup: Organize the setup and cleanup of all necessary game day operations, including equipment, facilities, and logistics. 5. Event Coordination: Ensure that all aspects of game day operations run smoothly, addressing any issues that arise promptly.

Recruitment of Student Athletes 1. Email Communication: Send out recruitment emails to prospective student-athletes, providing information about the athletics program and specific sports. 2. Phone Calls: Make recruitment phone calls to prospective student-athletes, discussing the benefits of joining the school's athletic programs. 3. Campus Visits: Meet with prospective student-athletes on campus, providing tours and introducing them to coaching staff and current athletes. 4. Admissions Events: Attend open house events run by the admissions office to represent the athletics department and engage with potential recruits and their families. 5. Collaboration with Coaches: Assist head coaches in identifying and reaching out to potential recruits, supporting their efforts to build strong teams.

General Responsibilities 1. Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties related to game day operations and recruitment, such as maintaining records and databases. 2. Communication: Maintain effective communication with coaches, athletes, and administrative staff to ensure all operations are aligned with the school's goals. 3. Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with school policies and relevant regulations. 4. Promotion: Promote the athletics program through various channels to attract high-quality student-athletes. 5. Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise during game day operations or the recruitme t process promptly and effectively.

These responsibilities will help ensure the smooth operation of game day events and effective recruitment of talented student-athletes.

Education Required - High school diploma. Preferred - Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

Work Experience Required - Administrative, coaching or playing experience at the high school level. Preferred - Collegiate administrative and/or coaching experience.

Licenses/Certifications Required - Possess a valid driver's license and pass a driving background check.

Skills Proficient communication skills Strong leadership skills Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff Knowledge of PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games Event and personnel management experience

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
