UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Facilities Manager in Schriever AFB, Colorado

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Facilities Manager to join our team supporting the Starcom DEL 12 Facility Management, Logistics, and Personnel Management Support located at Schriever Space Force Base (SFB), CO.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Government in the evaluation of present and future personnel, equipment, and mission requirements to make optimum use of the existing building space. Attend facility working group meetings to provide input regarding new construction and current building work requests.

• Troubleshoot, schedule and coordinate for building maintenance and projects.

• Communicate with Government agencies to facilitate the projects.

• Coordinate with and obtain approval from the COR, Government Budget Officer, Government Purchase Card (GPC) Holder and Financial Management Department prior to purchases and for payments to outside vendors or other Government Agencies.

• Escort outside vendors, janitorial services and/or CE personnel who do not have necessary clearances for the locations to complete coordinated tasks. The Contractor shall maintain escort privileges with security clearances.

• If emergencies take place outside of normal duty hours, this may require the contractor to work flexible hours; however, use of flexible scheduling is intended to support Government requirements. There may be some situations where work over 40 hours a week is required.

• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for Facility Management reviews and evaluation of projects submitted by directors or other agencies for feasibility and impact on use of space.

• Provide SME support during briefings to senior leaders.

• Inspect incoming materials, investigate complaints, orient tenants, and coordinate regulatory activity during renovation projects.

• Coordinate to ensure building HVAC systems are configured for normal operations in support of activities executed outside normal duty days and hours (e.g. exercises, Space Test and Training Range events, Reserve Unit Training Assembly weekend activities, etc.).

Qualifications

• High school degree or college

• Prior military or technical school training, preferred.

• 1-3+ years’ experience in Mission Critical Environments

• Electrical or mechanical license, preferred

• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects and performs all functional duties independently.

• Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
